InfoWest Giving Back To Local Communities.
What has become a summer tradition: InfoWest gave back, demonstrating our commitment to the community. In 2023 InfoWest gave away over 600 backpacks to children in Overton Nevada, Cedar City and St. George UT. We also hosted our annual STEM camp in George, UT.
Backpacks InfoWest distributed more than 600 backpacks to children in Cedar City UT, Richfield Utah, and Overton, NV. InfoWest also gave away backpacks to the Washington County School District.
Randy Cosby, Founder, COO, and Executive VP at InfoWest, expressed the company’s local roots and their desire to give back to the community.
Both the STEM camp and the backpack giveaway were offered free of charge. Regardless of whether they were customers or non-customers. InfoWest believes in being good neighbors and giving back to the community.
“The 600 backpacks were prepared with essential school supplies such as glue, paper, coloring pencils, pens/pencils, and other items to help children start the school year on the right foot,” said Cosby.
The backpacks came in a variety of styles, including dinosaur and llama designs, as well as Marvel-themed and other colors, giving the kids the opportunity to choose their favorite.
InfoWest also ensured that parents had an enjoyable time at the event by providing door prizes and offering a variety of food options, such as tacos, sandwiches, or pizza.
Kids Innovate
This year marked the 5th anniversary of InfoWest’s “Kids Innovate” STEM camp, for kids 7-12, and was offered free of charge in Washington County. The camp included snacks, lunch, T-shirts, and a bag filled with goodies and prizes for each participant.
Cosby mentioned that the event has grown each year, necessitating a move to a larger location to accommodate the 60 kids who signed up this year. “The camp featured educational activities about how the internet works, along with hands-on experiences like 3D printing and making solar ovens to bake s’mores. Additionally, the kids had a special presentation from Wilson Electronics,” said Cosby
Cosby emphasized that the camp’s curriculum and activities are chosen each year, allowing returning kids to learn new things and continue to be engaged.
InfoWest views both the backpack giveaway and the STEM camp as annual traditions and encourages everyone to stay tuned to their social media for announcements about the 2024 events. www.InfoWest.com
