1. Zion National Park:Â
Zion National Park is home to towering sandstone cliffs, narrow slot canyons, and scenic hiking trails such as Angel's Landing and The Narrows. The park does have an entry fee to get in and conveniently offers a shuttle service for long distances in the park.
2. Bryce Canyon National Park:
Bryce Canyon National Park is known for its unique hoodoo rock formations, scenic overlooks, and hiking trails like the Queen's Garden and Navajo Loop. Due to the high elevation and temperature fluctuations, bring plenty of water, dress in layers, and be mindful of altitude-related effects.
3. Capitol Reef National Park:
The rugged beauty of Capitol Reef National Park, features colorful sandstone cliffs, fruit orchards, historic pioneer sites, and scenic drives along the Waterpocket Fold. Choose from a variety of hiking opportunities, from easy walks to challenging backcountry routes. Due to the desert environment, bring plenty of water, sunscreen, and protective clothing, and be prepared for extreme temperatures, especially in the summer months.
4. Off-Roading in Moab:
Moab is home to iconic trails like Hell's Revenge, Fins and Things, and the Slickrock Bike Trail. Familiarize yourself with local regulations and obtain any necessary permits for off-road travel. Ensure your vehicle is properly equipped for off-roading, including adequate ground clearance, four-wheel drive, and sturdy tires. Respect designated trails and avoid damaging fragile desert ecosystems by staying on established routes. And HAVE FUN!
5. Natural Bridges National Monument:
The Natural Bridges National Monument, located in the scenic canyons of the Colorado Plateau, has several scenic hiking trails that lead to overlooks and viewpoints of the natural bridges. Be sure to wear comfortable hiking shoes and take lots of pictures! This is a location you’ll never want to forget.
6. Cedar Breaks National Monument:
The Cedar Breaks National Monument showcases colorful rock formations, wildflower meadows, and panoramic views of the surrounding landscape. The monument is located at a high elevation of over 10,000 feet, so visitors should be prepared for cooler temperatures and potential altitude effects such as shortness of breath or dizziness. The park offers several overlooks and scenic viewpoints accessible by short trails or from designated parking areas, so visitors of all ages and abilities can enjoy the breathtaking views of the colorful rock formations and deep amphitheater.
7. Snow Canyon State Park:
The dramatic red rock scenery and lava flows of Snow Canyon State Park offers hiking, rock climbing, picnicking, and wildlife viewing opportunities.This park is located in southwestern Utah near St. George. There is a unique desert landscape characterized by red sandstone cliffs, lava flows, and sand dunes.
8. Take a Scenic Drive along Scenic Byway 12:
Scenic Byway 12 is often referred to as one of the most scenic highways in America, passing through diverse landscapes, national parks, and picturesque towns.
9. Cultural and Historical Sites
