InfoWest kicked off its eighth annual backpack giveaway in Overton, Nevada. Overton is where this tradition started, and it still sets the tone for the giveaways that follow.
To beat the summer heat, the team started early, welcoming families with free backpacks and Pinkbox doughnuts. In two hours, from 9 to 11 a.m., volunteers handed out 200 backpacks and 100 doughnuts to local students getting ready for the new school year. After Overton, the giveaway moved on to Richfield and Cedar City.
For InfoWest, this is a way to give back to the towns we live in, one backpack at a time.
