In the summer of 2022, InfoWest partnered with Dixie Technical College to bring on a few interns and show them how an Internet provider runs day to day. Austin K. joined the St. George office and spent his weeks in tech support.

The work gave Austin a first look at the job. “Being an intern at InfoWest was a great way for me to get my foot in the door,” he said. “I enjoyed the work environment, and the individualized attention InfoWest gives to their customers and employees.”

He came for the experience and left with training he could use. “I wasn’t just doing the internship for work, it was also a great learning opportunity,” Austin said. “I had great training. Both with support phone calls and in person with customers. I feel InfoWest prepared me well for my next job opportunity.” He would recommend the internship to anyone looking to break into IT.

His supervisor, Travis, saw the same drive. “Austin was solid. He displayed good workplace skills and professionalism… He was always on time, did the work assigned to him, and always had a positive attitude. Austin is driven to learn more and grow… He will succeed in the I.T. industry, I look forward to following his career.”

InfoWest hires and trains locally, and the partnership with Dixie Technical College is one way we bring new technicians into the field. Curious about joining the team? See open roles on our careers page.
