InfoWest's local network infrastructure is right here in Southern Utah. Expect 5 to 15 milliseconds to western US game servers like Salt Lake City. Cross-country servers will be higher based on physical distance (that is physics, not your ISP). Within the western US, latency stays tight and consistent.
What are the upload speeds on the Gamer plan? expand_more

What does Gaming Traffic Priority actually do? expand_more
Gaming Traffic Priority routes your gaming packets ahead of other traffic on your network. If someone in your house is downloading a large file or streaming 4K while you are in a match, your gaming data gets priority. Lower lag, fewer rubber-banding moments.
Can I use my own router instead of the InfoWest one? expand_more
Yes. We provision the connection and hand off to your hardware. Our tech will verify the WAN connection is clean before they leave. If you want to run a custom router, pfSense box, or other networking gear, we support it.
Is fiber internet available at my address? expand_more
Fiber is available in select neighborhoods with build-out expanding across Southern Utah. Where fiber isn't built, our fixed wireless network covers most of our service area, with FiberWave delivering fiber-class speeds in select line-of-sight neighborhoods. Unlike most ISPs who route traffic through servers in Salt Lake City or other states, InfoWest has content servers right here in St. George. Netflix, YouTube, and other streaming content travels a shorter distance, which means less buffering, faster load times, and a smoother experience.

Our network uses QoS rules that identify gaming traffic by protocol and port, then prioritize those packets at the router level. This means your game traffic gets processed before bulk downloads, streaming buffers, and background updates on other devices sharing your connection.
Is this throttle-free even at 9pm Friday? expand_more
Yes. We do not throttle based on time of day, data usage, or type of traffic. InfoWest's dedicated infrastructure does not share bandwidth between households the way cable does. Performance is consistent.
