What this plan handles

Ranked matches don't forgive lag spikes — and lag isn't a speed problem.

A game needs about 4 Mbps. What kills a match is latency, not bandwidth — so this plan wins on priority and a clean signal, not on printing a bigger number.

  • Gaming Traffic Priority: your game traffic goes first when the house is busy
  • Full-house streaming running alongside your session
  • Mesh coverage, plus a hardwire option so the signal reaches the battle station
Traffic priority: game traffic goes to the front of the line on our network, even when the rest of the house is streaming movie night.

For gaming, the number on the box barely matters. A match needs about 4 Mbps; what wins or loses it is latency. Even with your game plus two streams and a house full of devices, a busy night runs around 65 Mbps — well inside the 100 Mbps you start with. Other providers sell a giant number, then let the neighborhood share it at 7 PM. We put your game traffic first, and we limit how many homes share each tower, so evenings stay close to midday speeds.

How much speed does your house need?

The honest speed

Starts at 100 Mbps · up to 2 Gbps on fiber

Fiber up to 2 Gbps and FiberWave up to 1 Gbps on Gamer Plus · wireless up to 200 Mbps, all depending on your address.

A game needs about 4 Mbps — your 100 Mbps start is 25× that. What decides a match is latency, not bandwidth.

We confirm your options when you check your address, and your exact speed at install.

Frequently asked questions

Common questions about the InfoWest Gamer plan.

What kind of ping and latency should I expect?
Our local network is right here in Southern Utah. Expect about 5–15 ms to Salt Lake City servers. Servers farther away add latency with distance.
What does Gaming Traffic Priority do?
We apply QoS rules on our network that identify gaming traffic by protocol and port and route those packets ahead of other traffic. When someone in the house is downloading a large file or streaming 4K during your match, your game data still goes first: lower lag and fewer rubber-banding moments. The same traffic management runs on every InfoWest connection; Gamer plans pair it with faster speeds and whole-home mesh.
Can I use my own router instead of the InfoWest one?
Yes. We provision the connection and hand off to your hardware. Our tech verifies the WAN connection is clean before they leave. Custom router, pfSense box, or other networking gear. We support it.
Is this throttle-free even at 9pm Friday?
Yes. We don't throttle based on time of day, data usage, or type of traffic. We limit how many homes share each tower, so evenings stay close to midday speeds.
Is fiber Internet available at my address?
Fiber is available in select neighborhoods with build-out expanding across Southern Utah. Where fiber isn't built, our fixed wireless network covers most of our area, with FiberWave, up to 1 Gbps, in select neighborhoods. Call (435) 674-0165 to confirm your address.
